Kei Acedera: Visual Development and Storytelling for Film
As Art Director of Imaginism Studios, Kei Acedera specialises in in concept art, visual development, and character design for film. She is known for her imaginative character designs for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and her best selling children’s’ book illustrations for Harper Collins.
Join Kei as she shares her career highlights and insights into crafting mood, story and emotion in films through illustration and concept design. Kei will also discuss her own personal artistic expressions and how they inform her professional work.

Kei specializes in concept art, visual development, and character design for film. Her illustrations and paintings never fail to bring a smile to people’s faces.
What Kei loves most about being an independent artist: “The creative freedom, definitely. I have this constant desire to create and to try new things in my art, and it’s so much easier to do that when you know that there’s no one looking over your shoulder withholding their approval. That freedom allows an artist to have the courage to explore and therefore become even more creative.”
Kei lives and works in Toronto, where her favorite sources of inspiration are Fashion Week, the Toronto International Film Festival, nature, and music of all kinds.
Kei is the Art Director of Imaginism Studios.
